News update

Three news items for you:

(1) Our sister camp, Peace Camp in San Jose, has announced summer, 2015, dates. Geoff Rimositis, camp director, says that Peace Camp will take place from June 15-19, 2015. We’re planning to announce the dates for Ecojustice Camp 2105 within the next couple of weeks. We’re waiting for some final approvals, but expect to have a week very close to the Peace Camp week.

(2) We’ve added three members to our Advisory Board. Roy King, M.D., a psychiatrist and associate professor emeritus at Stanford, will be advising us on the personal growth aspects of our program. Rafael Gomez, an accomplished outdoorsman and member of the Board of Trustees of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Palo Alto, will be advising us on outdoors skills. And Jodi Levine, Director of Earthroots Field School in Orange County, Calif., will be advising us on curriculum.

(3) Assistant Director Mike Abraham and I are currently seeking funding sources to help us get Ecojustice Camp going. We’ll be seeking grant money to purchase supplies equipment, to provide scholarships to families in need, and to help fund more field trips. If you know of grant money we should apply for, please get in touch — or if you would like to contribute directly, please ask us how to make a tax-deductible donation to our sponsoring organization that is earmarked for Ecojustice Camp.

See you at camp next June,
Dan Harper
Camp Director
